All About Trees (Arborist’s Certification Prep Course)
This class is ideal for property managers, developers, construction inspectors, landscape architects, contractors, planners, government and private tree workers, pruners and any one in the tree care business. Learn essential principles and practices of tree care. The course prepares you for taking the International Society of Arboriculture certification exam (optional) to become a Certified Arborist. Subjects include tree biology, nutrition and fertilization chemistry, installation and establishment, soil and water relationships, tree identification, pruning, problem diagnosis and treatment, cabling and bracing, safety, climbing, assessment and risk management, and more. The class includes weekly readings and workbook exercises. Participation in this course does not guarantee your passing the ISA test. Testing is an additional fee for ISA members $150; for nonmembers $250. Note: ISA membership fee is $165.
Ernie Rezents was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus by the University of Hawai‘i Board of Regents upon his retirement from Maui Community College.
