Electrician: Continued Competency 2008 Code Update
Effective July 1, 1995, all electricians in categories EJ, EJI, EJS, ES, ESI, and ESS (Maintenance Electricians - EM category are exempt from this requirement) will need to complete a continued competency requirement and pay the applicable fees in order to renew their license. Alternately, you may also renew your license by taking an exam *. The deadline to renew your license is June 30, 2011. Failure to renew your license by paying the applicable fee and meeting the continued competency requirement (attending the continued competency course OR taking an exam) shall constitute a forfeiture of the license effective July 1, 2011. A forfeited license does not allow you to perform electrical work. You have one year from June 30, 2011 to restore your license. If you fail to restore your license by June 30, 2012, you will need to reapply as a new applicant.
Requirements: No discounts apply. Students should bring the 2008 code book with them to class.
