Wine 101: Increase Your Knowledge of Fine Wines
Travel the world through an in-depth study and appreciation of expensive wines, brandies, and ports. You will gain practical knowledge that will increase your expertise and earnings selling fine wines. Learn to: make suggestions of food and wine pairings for guests in any restaurant or at home; know the wide array of aromas and flavors of wine and how they relate to geography; and, create an exemplary wine list suited to your establishment.
Requirements: Government issued photo identification. You must be 21 or over to participate.
Alan Jahns (owner) in JMD Beverages, Hawai‘i’s largest locally-owned fine wine distributorship. He has been teaching the popular wine classes for UH Outreach, Kauai Community College and Maui Community College’s VITEC/Bids for over 20 years. He is a popular speaker throughout the state of Hawaii, consistently being featured before a wide array of groups, from “Wine 101” for conventions to “Wine & Health” issues at Maui’s Life Fest. His passion for wine has enabled him to travel the World from Australia & New Zealand to Europe’s greatest sites in France & Germany.
