Human Resources Essentials

You will learn how to reduce your company’s risk of high-cost litigation, prevent violation of employment laws, and improve your ability to handle challenging HR issues in this SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Essentials. This is an important preparation class in the Human Resources Management Certificate Program. Participants will gain a thorough introduction to: employment law; staffing; compensation, human resources development, and performance management. This course is for those exploring HR as a career field, entry-level human resources professionals, managers or small business owners who want to ensure their company follows HR Best Practices to prevent litigation, and International HR personnel wishing to increase their knowledge of U.S. fundamental HR practices. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible for SHRM testing to receive the Essentials of Human Resources Management Certificate.
